Bolesworth property director takes the hot seat at development conference

Bolesworth Property Director Simon Kennish took a hot seat at a high-profile conference discussing the region’s development plans and potential.

Simon was invited on to the panel at the Place North West Cheshire Development Update which was a cross-sector conference aimed at offering market insight and updates on development opportunities in the region and the plans shaping them.

Everything from logistics, housing, business parks, town centres, the rural economy and more was discussed at the event held at Chester Racecourse.

It was organised and hosted by Place North West, established 14 years ago, as a business to business website for property and regeneration professionals in the north west. Around 100 property professionals at the heart of the future of Cheshire development attended but with Covid-19 restrictions limiting numbers, the event was also live-streamed.

Simon said: “It felt strange but also really great to be back out enjoying an event such as this, meeting new people and doing everything face to face.

“It felt a great opportunity to raise the profile of Bolesworth and share the positive developments we are experiencing here, despite the challenges of the last 16 months.

“Our residential properties are in extremely high demand with people wanting to move out to the country and enjoy everything which an estate such as Bolesworth can offer. The ability to step outside your door, into the fresh air and be in the most spectacular rural surroundings.

“We have also seen a lot of smaller, start up business, coming to us who have set up during the pandemic from the dining room table and are now looking for their first business premises and we have the facilities here to support them.

“There’s demand from larger businesses too who are looking to move away from large offices in the middle of a city. We are able to work with all sorts of different businesses to find a property which fits their ambition and situation.

“The beauty of Bolesworth is that myself and the whole property team are on site ready to help find property solutions for our tenants which enables them to move forward, whether in a business or personal capacity.”

BEST FOOT FORWARD WITH WONDERFUL WELLY WALK IN TATTENHALL 600 400 Daniel Shires

BEST FOOT FORWARD WITH WONDERFUL WELLY WALK IN TATTENHALL

If you take a wander around Tattenhall during July and August you are sure to find a wonderful show of wellies helping to raise money for a community fund.

Tattenhall & District Parish Council have organized a Welly Walk through the village which Bolesworth Estate are pleased to support.

Around 60 residents, community groups and businesses have been putting their best foot forward and creating displays at different points around the village for people to find and enjoy.

Some made use of wooden welly cut outs which the parish council provided and then decorated them with their own designs. Others put their creative talents to use by drawing or painting a picture of their own colourful welly and then sticking it in their window for all to enjoy.

At Bolesworth, we asked for the help of our Head Gardener, Andy Frostick, who created a beautiful ‘Bolesworth Boots in Bloom’ display with the help of a pair of wellingtons and a planter.

It is now on display in the Barbour Square car park by The Lute Player sculpture for all to see.

There’s a very creative and colourful array of other welly displays to enjoy while enjoying a lovely summer walk with friends and family at the same time.

The walk was officially launched on Saturday July 3 and £1 guides are available from Alison’s Country Kitchen, the Spar and the Post Office in the village.

Proceeds from the sale of the guide will go towards the parish council’s Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) fund. This will be boosted by a charity raffle which boasts a host of great prizes including Barbour jackets, a parish council hamper with lots of goodies and tickets for our magical Christmas light trail, new to Bolesworth for 2021.

MAGICAL LIGHT TRAIL WILL ILLUMINATE CHESHIRE CASTLE THIS CHRISTMAS

A magical light trail will illuminate a Cheshire castle and its grounds this Christmas.

Bolesworth Estate has announced plans to host thirty nights of festive lights, giving visitors special access to some of the spectacular grounds which surround the historic house close to Tattenhall.

The 1.2 mile trail, at Bolesworth from November 26 through to Christmas Eve, will guide young ‘advent’urers and their families through an enchanted winter wonderland after dark where there will be a rainbow of floodlit trees, lights that twinkle by the lakeside and sparkling walkways with laser lit bridges.

Father Christmas’ reindeer will be found in the woodland on route and there will be a festive food and drink market at the end so visitors can be ‘stocking’ up with seasonal treats. Children young and old will be able to visit Father Christmas in his grotto and there will also be a chance to go ice skating, along with an impressive laser and light show display every evening.

Nina Barbour, Managing Director of Bolesworth, said: “This is the first time we have staged a Christmas event at Bolesworth and we are really looking forward to creating a magical winter wonderland for the whole family to enjoy together.

“We have some beautiful grounds here at Bolesworth and it will be lovely to share them with visitors during this incredibly special time of year.

“We are really excited to create this beautiful light and entertainment spectacle which can’t fail to get us all into the festive spirit.”

In addition to the light trail, Bolesworth will also be hosting extra special Christmas parties perfect for company nights out or family and friend festive get togethers.

Party goers can make the most of the light trail before warming up by a fire pit where Christmas cocktails and a festive menu will provide the perfect refreshment. There will even be a secret champagne island available to book.

The Christmas lights will come at the end of a busy 2021 for Bolesworth which is scheduled to play host to an array of events through the summer and beyond. These  include three world-class equestrian shows, Chris Evans’ family fundraising favourite CarFest and The Great Balloon Race where dozens of hot air balloons in all shapes and sizes will ascend into the air along with music entertainment.

Tickets for the Bolesworth Christmas Lights will be on sale from Thursday July 1. For more information, click here.

Grace's Amazing Machines

BOLESWORTH IN THE DRIVING SEAT FOR CBEEBIES FILMING

Bolesworth Estate in Cheshire has played host to CBeebies children’s series ‘Graces Amazing Machines’.

Now in its second series, the popular TV production sees motorbike rider Grace Webb introduce a pre-school audience to some of the biggest, fastest and most amazing machines in the world.

The first series began airing in October 2018 and has quickly attracted the eager attention of kids and parents alike.

Boasting a private road network of over 1,000m and the added advantage of being a controlled, secure location, Bolesworth was a natural choice for the CBeebies production crew. Unprohibited use of the roving road network allowed crews to film without disruption or limitation.

What’s more, positioned on a 6,500 acre parkland backdrop, all within one hour of neighbouring cities Manchester and Liverpool, the estates rural location was inspirational setting for the series.

On set for over a month’s worth of filming, the crew were also able to take full advantage of the estate’s ancillary facilities including the on site production offices, green room and dressing room.

Head of TV & Film, Charlie Greenstein said:

“We were delighted to accommodate the BBC again at Bolesworth.

I’m sure one of the reasons that they returned to us was to take advantage of our extensive private road network. These roads were originally built across our showgrounds which lie adjacent to the castle, in order to facilitate the large events that we hold here, for example, Carfest North.

TV and Film Productions are always on the hunt for private roads as their use can bypass the tortuous processes that seem to hinder gaining approvals from local authorities.”

Episodes of the series are now being aired every week day from Monday 5th October at 16.05 on the CBeebies channel.

Offering a unique environment to film, Bolesworth is best well known for it’s iconic Grade II listed Castle, but the estate location portfolio offers so much more.

Bolesworth is open to film now. With up to date COVID protocols and struct adherence to APA guidance, the estate is open to welcome and assist production crews large and lean.

THE RISE OF GREEN DESKING; WHY RURAL DOESN’T MEAN REMOTE 1024 683 Daniel Shires

THE RISE OF GREEN DESKING; WHY RURAL DOESN’T MEAN REMOTE

A clear shift in commercial property demand is underway. As heads turn to the perks of rural locations, Bolesworth looks to become the home of rural co-working in the North West.

Positioned on a 6,500 acre parkland backdrop, all within one hour of neighbouring cities Manchester and Liverpool, the estates rural location is inspirational setting to inexhaustible opportunity.

Businesses are hungry for a fresh approach for commercial co-working; one that blends the perks of city centre connectivity with rural idylls. Enquiries for spacious offices for smaller teams are increasing. People are keen to get back to an office where they can work hard, but not at the expense of burning out.

Boasting an eclectic portfolio of traditional office space to bespoke development, Bolesworth works collaboratively with tenants, existing and new, to find the right space to fit their ambitions. What’s more, ample onsite parking and unrivalled internet connectivity all less than 2 hours by train to London and enviable access to major road networks; rural does not mean remote.

The Bridge Channel 4
BOLESWORTH HOSTS NEW REALITY SHOW ‘THE BRIDGE’ 1024 683 Daniel Shires

BOLESWORTH HOSTS NEW REALITY SHOW ‘THE BRIDGE’

Bolesworth Estate has played host to Channel 4’s new reality show ‘The Bridge’.

Having aired its inaugural episode on Sunday 11th October, the series sees 12 strangers come together and build a bridge to win £100,000.

Narrated by Scottish actor James McAvoy, the contestants have 20 days to build an 850ft bridge by hand.

The prize money lies on an island in the middle of a lake and the team must work together to get to it before the time runs out.

Based on a format originally created by Zeppelin, a Banijay Iberia company, the show is being made by Manchester based Workerbee TV for Channel 4.

The five-part Channel 4 series is set to be the ultimate test of mental skill, physical agility and group dynamics as the strangers live together in the beautiful British countryside.

Bolesworth Estate welcomed the Workerbee production team to its Egerton studios and Willow Hill Farm in August for the filming of the behind the scenes interviews.

Steve Handley, Commissioning Editor at Channel 4 said;

“Filmed in the backdrop of the wide open spaces of the glorious UK countryside that many of us have been dreaming of in recent months this entertaining and utterly engaging new reality series is bound to start many conversations about just how far we would each go to secure £100k.”

Earlier this month, Bolesworth also celebrated the airing of the CBeebies series ‘Grace’s Amazing Machines’. Taking advantage of the Estate’s private road network and purpose built set build studio space, the children’s hit TV series is currently available on the CBeebies channel and BBC iPlayer.

Having already welcomed production crews from Netflix, BBC and Lime Pictures, and less than an hour from neighbouring cities Manchester and Liverpool, the Estate is quickly establishing itself as a key TV and film location within the North West.

Charlie Greenstein, Head of TV & Film at Bolesworth Estate said:

“Workerbee TV was drawn to the Estate thanks to its abundance of controllable locations; a key priority for any production company in the COVID climate.

Launching Bolesworth Film in the middle of the pandemic has had its challenges but we’ve found that our rural yet connected spot has been one of our USPs.

Rural doesn’t necessarily mean remote, the Estate occupies an enviable position with good access to major road networks as well as the added benefit of playing host to 6,500 acres of controllable locations and 25,000 sq ft studio space”.

Nestled in Cheshire’s rolling countryside, the much-loved view of the Grade II listed Bolesworth Castle has been an admired and familiar sight in Cheshire for nearly 200 years, but this unique location is about so much more than mystical castles and rolling hills.

Within the Estates location portfolio sits a wealth of niche locations as well as set build studio space and supporting ancillary services. For more information, please visit bolesworthfilm.co.uk
