Olympians, World Champions And Global Stars Headline Bolesworth’s Return to CSI4*

Anticipation is building as Bolesworth International, presented by Al Shira’aa, makes its long-awaited return to CSI4* level for the first time since 2019 – when Belgium’s Rik Hemeryck clinched victory aboard the unforgettable coloured stallion Ulyss Morinda. Their names have been etched on the Grand Prix trophy for six years, but in 2025, a new star will rise. Thanks to the extended support of Sheikha Fatima Bint Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the Al Shira’aa team, this prestigious title is once again up for grabs.

Running from 27th June to 6th July 2025, Bolesworth offers two action-packed weeks of CSI3* and CSI4* showjumping, including seven Longines Ranking classes and a combined £500,000 total prize fund.

With over 17 nations set to compete this year and with more than 20,000 international starts now recorded at the venue over the past decade, Bolesworth cements its position as a cornerstone of the global showjumping calendar.

Attracting the sport’s top names, the 2025 line-up is nothing short of stellar. Confirmed riders include:

Omar Al Marzouqi – Asian Games Silver Medallist and CSI4* Grand Prix Winner

Joe Stockdale – FEI World Championship finalist and rising British star

Pippa Funnell – Olympic silver medallist, former World No.1 in Eventing, and the first rider to win the Rolex Grand Slam of Eventing

Gemma Stevens (née Tattersall) – Tokyo 2020 Olympian and Team Gold medallist at the 2018 World Equestrian Games

Billy Twomey – European Championship team bronze medallist for Ireland

Mikey Pender – One of Ireland’s most decorated young riders with Nations Cup victories

Trevor Breen – Hickstead Derby winner and Nations Cup stalwart

William Funnell – Three-time Hickstead Derby winner and European team gold medallist

John Whitaker MBE – Showjumping legend with Olympic, World and European medals

Jack Whitaker – Youth Olympic medallist and U25 European team gold medallist

Also returning are the 2024 Al Shira’aa CSI3* Grand Prix winner Ireland’s Shane Breen (IRL) and runner-up, Great Britain’s James Davenport  – who could once again battle for top honours in this year’s CSI3* showdown.

Nina Barbour, Managing Director of Bolesworth, said:

It’s an incredibly proud moment to welcome back CSI4* sport to Bolesworth, and we’re so grateful to Al Shira’aa for their ongoing and increased support in making this happen. The calibre of entries we’ve received is testament to the ambition and standard of this event – it promises to be our most competitive and exciting edition yet.
