Insurance Cover

BOLESWORTH ELITE AUCTION – 2026

Certain Lots may be sold with optional Fall of Hammer (“FOH”) insurance cover. Where selected, such cover shall insure the Lot for its purchase price against mortality and theft for a period of twelve (12) months from the date of sale, subject always to the terms, conditions and exclusions of the relevant insurer’s policy. 

FOH cover may be arranged in advance of the Auction, with premium rates pre-agreed, such rates being dependent upon the sum insured applicable to each Lot. 

Cover shall be provided under a single policy arranged by Bolesworth Events Limited, which shall act as policyholder, with the relevant Purchaser noted against the applicable Lot. 

Purchasers may elect to upgrade the FOH cover to include veterinary fees cover for the policy year, subject to insurer approval and payment by the Purchaser of any additional premium required. 

Eligibility and Territorial Restrictions 

FOH cover shall only be available to Purchasers resident in the United Kingdom, in accordance with the Financial Conduct Authority (“FCA”) permissions and regulatory limitations applicable to Grosvenor and the relevant insurers. 

Where the Purchaser of a Lot is not resident in the United Kingdom, FOH cover shall not be available in respect of that Lot. 

Insured horses must ordinarily reside within the United Kingdom. Horses may travel to Europe for periods not exceeding ninety (90) days in any policy year. 

Extended overseas cover may be available at the insurer’s discretion and may be subject to additional terms and payment of an additional premium. 

Purchaser Information and Veterinary Documentation 

Following completion of the sale, the Purchaser shall provide, or authorise the provision of, such information and documentation as may reasonably be required by the insurers, including but not limited to: 

• the Purchaser’s full name and address; and 

• copies of any pre-purchase examinations, veterinary certificates, vettings and/or x-rays completed in respect of the Lot. 

OH cover is intended to apply only to foals, yearlings, rising three-year-olds and adult horses.
