Santa Dash at Bolesworth

On your marks, get set, ho ho ho! Join us for the Bolesworth Santa Dash on December 11 2022  in aid of our wonderful charity Hope House and Tŷ Gobaith Children’s Hospices. The Dash will start at 3pm with arrival from 2.30pm.

You’ll get the chance to run (or walk) around the approximately 2km track which leads you up and around the Castle, where you can stop for breath and take in the amazing views of Cheshire, North Wales, Wirral and Merseyside. The event is dog-friendly, everyone is welcome to take part and we encourage dress up

And as a special thank you for taking part, when you sign-up you’ll be sent a code to give you a 25% discount* off four tickets to the Bolesworth Christmas Light trail on December 11 from 4pm. Not only that, Bolesworth will be donating a further 25% to Hope House for every four tickets purchased.

Once you have completed the lap you’ll receive a Santa Dash medal, Santa Hat and a goody bag.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can Anyone Take Part?

Yes, the Santa Dash is a 2.5K fun run or walk. It is open to everyone and children under the age of 16 can take part but they must be accompanied by a paying adult.  

How Much is it to Enter?

Registration is £10 per adult and £5 per child.  There is no minimum sponsorship, participants are asked to raise as much as they can. Our friends at Ticketek have been kind enough to waive the booking fee for entry, so the full amount of your entry fee will go to Hope House.

What Time Does the Event Start?

Arrival time 2.30pm, Start at 3pm prompt.

Do I Have to Buy a Santa Costume?

You don’t need to wear a Santa costume but we encourage a Christmas themed dress up!

Is There a Time Limit to Complete the Lap?

No, there isn't a time limit to complete the distance. The theme of the day is about participation and enjoyment. Competitive running is discouraged, it’s Christmas after all!

Is It Timed?

No, the Santa Dash is not timed as it is not a competitive race, it's a fun run.

Do I Have to Raise Money as Well as Pay the Entry Fee?

It would be great if you could raise some money for the charity, maybe ask your friends to forfeit buying that extra pack of mince pies or mulled wine and donate the money to you instead.

What Happens When I Get to Bolesworth?

You’ll be directed by the marshalls to park and then gather by the Hope House team who will make themselves visible. You’ll be asked to show your proof of entry and will be given a wristband. Once you have finished your lap you will be directed to the Events team who will hand out your medals.

Why Do I Need a Wristband?

You need to hand in your wristband at the finish line to indicate that you are a legitimate entrant in the race. The events team who distributes the medals at the finish are instructed to hand out medals only to official entrants.

I've Booked My Tickets for Christmas Lights, How Do I Get In?

Once you have booked your entry to the Santa Dash you will be sent a unique code from Bolesworth. Go to and book your tickets using your unique code. Your tickets will be sent to your mobile. Just show these after the race at the Christmas Lights box office.

Is the Discount Code Only Valid for December 11?

Yes it is. You are free to enter the Christmas Lights anytime from 4pm on December 11.

Will There Be a Photographer at the Event?

Oh yes, we love popping pictures of Santa on our website and social media!

You agree to grant Hope House Children’s Hospices and Bolesworth the right to use photographs/videos taken of you during the event, i.e. website/Facebook page/promotion for 2023.
