Lend your support to an amazing cause and add a splash of colour to the Cheshire countryside at the Trooping the Colour Park Ride on 15 June 2023.
Held as part of the Bolesworth International, this slow-paced hack through the stunning scenery surrounding Bolesworth Castle will celebrate the King’s Birthday Parade whilst raising money for the Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA).
Riders and horses are invited to dress up to celebrate the occasion; whether you want to reflect the tradition of the parade, wear your best fancy dress idea or simply bold and bright colours – the choice is yours!
The event will take place from 9am to 1pm and is open to the entire equestrian community, with riders of all ages and ability levels welcome. The hack lasts approximately 60 minutes (with a shorter accessible route available too).
The ride will pass in front of the Castle, with an official photographer present to capture that special moment, before returning through the grounds and passing by our prize-giving judging panel. Prizes will be awarded in the following categories and presented in the International Arena at around 3pm.
Entry costs £29.00 (including automatic £10.00 donation to the RDA). We encourage all entrants to set up a Just Giving page to raise additional funds for the RDA (information on how to do this will be circulated once your entry is confirmed).
All entrants will receive a general admission ticket for themselves and one companion for the Thursday of the wider event, along with a commemorative rosette.
Entries will be taken on a first-come, first-served basses and close Monday 29 May (or earlier if we reach capacity). No entries will be taken on the day. Any withdrawals after the closing date will not receive a refund.
For any questions or enquiries please email us.
The park ride is designed to be a gentle enjoyable ride around the Bolesworth Estate and will not include any obstacles. Depending on the number of entries the pace of the ride may be moderated to ensure a safe environment can be maintained for all involved
Riders will be set off on the ride in staggered time slots, with each rider’s timeslot being confirmed in advance of the event
Riders 16yrs and under must be accompanied by an adult
Although we do encourage dressing up to our theme, please ensure that you are still suitably dressed in appropriate riding attire and hard hats
On arrival, riders will be given a number to wear in order for us to identify prize winners – all winners will be notified via their mobile phone by 1pm
Prize giving will be mounted in the Main International Arena at 3pm (Time TBC)
All riders are responsible for the behaviour of their horses and must ensure they are able to keep them under control at all times whilst on site
Please be aware that it is a live event and although the route will not go directly through the event site, there will be other competitors and members of the public in attendance
Horseboxes and Trailers will be parked in a separate field to the International Stable Field – please follow signage
Postcode to Entrance: CH3 9JJ
All riders must have third party liability insurance
